The Nuaire Drimaster PIV Unit has easy to use hall controls. Everything you need to control your unit is located in the ceiling diffuser for easy access. The principle behind the functionality of the PIV unit is the use of a small fan. This fan has various speed settings that can be altered according to the size of your home or the severity of any damp issues. Fan speed is selected on the PIV unit controller, air is then blown into the house from the loft. Most lofts are insulated in “breathable” materials which allows the PIV unit to draw fresh air from outside. There is no need to vent the unit externally as the natural breathability of your loft is all that is required. Please note some lofts are insulated by non-breathable materials, this would render the use of a PIV unit sub-optimal. Instead, this PIV unit works by pumping fresh air into your home. When this happens, the old air is forced out and your condensation levels are lowered. With this Nuaire Drimaster PIV Unit, the ventilation unit is inserted in your loft floor. From here, it brings in fresh air from the parts of your loft that allow natural air in. This air passes through your Nuaire Drimaster PIV Unit’s fan and filter. Then, it enters your home while pushing out old, stale air.
The general rule of thumb is that anytime you notice a reduction of quality air in your home, start by replacing the filter. Nuaire Drimaster Installation You will also need to make sure that Building Regulations Part F is complied with, as the PIV unit does not act as an extract ventilator.
