About this deal

I think here is where the series starts to move past its funny/creepy premise and really begin to develop Miko as a character in control of her own future. Starting to learn about the depth of her abilities is a very good thing. And is that a possible villain introduction here? In horror manga usually the plot point is a let down. It never gets interesting, nothing is ever explained, and if did, it’s poorly done. Mieruko-chan strength consists in episodic events and in an overarching plot. It’s very slow, it gives you hints here and there about the real main plot, but without giving away too much. This alone, in my opinion, will keep your interest strong not knowing what the real deal with this weird manga is. The mystery element is very important in this one. It’s an unpredictable story. Thanks to the excellent writing, the author will never let you predict what’s gonna happen next. All you have are some at first seemingly filler chapters, but truth is that they are not. No time is wasted here, each ghost helps the story moving forward. What you will do will be trying to figure out what’s going on. And I will repeat myself. This overarching plot is an unpredictable one. So if you’re looking for a manga that transcends the usual, boring, repetitive, uninspired and predictable story, there you go, Mieruko-chan exists. At first, it does really seem initially aimless. The art is pretty much the only good part. There's some fanservice, but nothing out of control (sadly the anime adaptation does exaggerate it). At first, I was only reading because I thought the art was good and I wanted to see what kind of monster designs and strange scenarios the author would come up with, but later, I

And speaking of, I’m very nervous about this new spiritualist, who was apparently Godmother’s last apprentice and the one I suspect sent her that photo… The fact that she won’t teach people anymore and that he’s so… creepy make me wonder what may happen… bad enough Miko has those creepy shrine maidens to deal with… now she has this weirdo too? knowledge(pretty cool) to get the upper hand over the mysterious deaths. Most of the time she is searching for the root cause of the death(guessing what is about to happen) and trying to prevent it, you will be seeing a lot of that. She also has very poor social abilities, which makes her task of saving people even more difficult. Such a great manga, especially for fans of horror movies at night. For an amateur. For example, people who read a lot of horror may not get scared. Who’s got what it takes. You can read it. What can I say, the manga is good, the plot is great, the drawing is nice. There are some funserious moments, but in time you won’t pay attention to them anymore. I recommend you to read it. At first I was repulsed by the moments with the heroine. That’s because I saw them as a kind of fanservice. But having undergone the initial chapters. It was as if it disappearing and all the focus shifted to the plot. But until all the chapters are out yet, it’s hard to predict the ending. I recommend this manga for those interested in the mysterious, occult, paranormal, etc. Not the best but it is very good. Of course, a unique idea does not guarantee an interesting story, but this manga does not fail there either. Mieruko-chan being (mostly) episodic works for its own favour very well, exploring a lot of different ideas and settings.

Manga

The series has an impressive monster design team with staff members from shows like Jujutsu Kaisen and Higurashi. How did you go about assembling this team and what considerations did you make as the director? Other than those little moments, Mieruko-Chan as a show really doesn’t shine much in the horror compartment. However, that’s not to say there aren’t any horror moments. The very few horror moments in the show were decently executed in my eyes, it’s just that there aren’t that many. Additionally, the series is not about finding the intricacies of how these spirits came to be and I think that’s perfectly fine. If the show isn’t really aiming for an in-depth explanation and is still able to provide a sense of entertainment, then I believe that is more than justified for its existence. its not rare or unusual for a manga/anime to be like, Horny, which under normal circumstances is like, yeah sure whatever, ya'know? anime. but it is unusual in the weirdly specific brand of Horny this manga starts off as. there is a weird sense of voyeurism through the way that the camera frames the main characters, leering shots of their butts with the impressions of their underwear visible through their clothing, situations where they're in various states of undress while a ghost lingers in the room, an early chapter dealing with a ghost who is mostly made up of arms and hands that won't stop groping high school girls.

With Mitsue the mystic at home after retiring (after meeting Miko and Hana) she gets a strange photo and discovers the girls may need more help than she realized. In the mean time as oblivious as Hana is life goes on even though Miko has met a few relatively dangerous ghost that have realized her talent and the emissaries of whatever she saw at the strange shrine with Hana have already helped her a few times so she wants to make an offering as thanks but instead discovers a whole lot of new ghosts and thankfully Mitsue who takes the poor girl under her wing. Something dark is potentially in the air and Miko is one of the few able to see it coming yet. Then there is this mysterious man connected to Mitsue somehow...will he be friend or foe is yet to be revealed. Hazra, Adriana (October 3, 2021). For the every day person, who may have had meta-sensory experiences in areas as dark places, or places with creepy atmospheres, that have ever invoked that seemingly irrational but heavy "gut feeling" in them, the reader who relates can rationalize those experiences with the creatures depicted in this manga as spirits who could be roaming on earth, all unseen by the every

Synopsis

Miko and Hana remain a great pairing, although Hana spends a substantial amount of time with Miko’s brother this time out and they’re a lot of fun too. He should know better than to trust Hana to have any idea where Miko might be, especially when she suggests something as ludicrous as a ‘donut crawl’. So, what about the story? What makes it so great? I'll try to be as generic as I can to avoid spoiling anything. Initially, the story begins with the main character starting to experience paranormal activities and acting accordingly to make them stop, but as time goes on the focus shifts more on the characters growth and it makes it so that you can relate to them on what they're feeling and thinking in almost every situation. To put it simply, reading this manga feels like reading about a person trying to overcome a mental illness through a journey full of hardships and to me this is marvellous and a bit poetic. Mieuruko-chan is rather unique. It's a story about monstrous spirits that has little to no action whatsoever. There are definitely shows and manga that have taken unique spins on the idea of spirits–such as MP100–but none in the way that Mieuruko-chan has, at least from my experience.

OGAWA: Once again, because I'm a big scaredy-cat, I didn't watch horror things as a child, so I didn't particularly take inspiration from that kind of media. Even now, I can't watch horror by myself, so I watch the MIERUKO-CHAN anime with the staff. (laughs) a b c d e f g h Mateo, Alex (December 10, 2021). Nov 28 Detective Conan Manga Goes on Hiatus for 30th Anniversary, 27th Film's Title & Date Revealed While I appreciate the concept of making yokai scary again rather than the cutesy iterations seen in most yokai manga, this first volume falls flat for two reasons. One, the completely unnecessary fan service and two, the repetitive structure. The fan service in this volume is the kind that makes me think, "I bet if the main character was a boy there would be no fan service". Not too offensive (at least by manga/ anime standards), but unnecessary and again makes me question whether this would be happening if the protagonist was a boy. With regards to the repetitive structure, while the last two chapters took different paths with the same formula, every other chapter was exactly the same: Miko is doing something mundane, she discovers there's a yokai, she tries to avoid it, shenanigans ensue. I understand that manga like these are going to be a tad repetitive, the fan service and the fact that I didn't find ANY of the punch lines funny made the repetition worse.

If this wasn’t enough, Mieruko-chan takes the saying “don’t judge a book by its cover” and makes it relevant. The main characters might not be so complicated and developed, but that’s not the strongest point. What I can say is that the main girl has finally shown a little bit of progress, but that’s not what I want to talk about. The ghosts ARE the highlights of this specific department. Although they might look scary, some of them have emotions and a story behing their terrific appearance (some of them are also inspired by more famous monsters). Behind their appearances lies a meaning. This is when the saying “don’t judge a book by its cover” comes into play. Yeah, they are scary, but some of them are more than that, not every ghost that the main heroine will meet will try to kill her. So, is it a good ghost or is it a bad ghost? That’s something unpredictable and you will only know the answer at the end of the chapter. However, there are two areas that Mieruko-chan excels at above all else: character building and comedy. ESPECIALLY character building. The normal” life is indeed hard as nails and horrifying, I cry inside silently every day for hours. I felt the premise in my bones and I was not disappointed, the mood and the irony of the unending utter terror Mieruko-chan must at all costs contain felt fresh and delicious. Interestingly it’s what most seers actually do, from what I know. No one has no time to deal with hostile astral entities, so they screen, tone down, and hide. OGAWA: I'm a big scaredy-cat, so even when I think something could be off, I ignore it. I've never looked at anything straight-on, so I can just barely claim that I've never experienced anything...
