Bare wood species with a high content of natural wood extractives need to weather off (min. 4 weeks) before the initial treatment or be cleaned with Osmo Brush Cleaner and Thinner (degreaser).

Apply the first coat to all sides before installation. A trial application is always required, especially for unfamiliar surfaces. If possible, apply an initial coat to all sides of the wood before installation when protecting new wood. Access must be suitable for lorries which will be 3.5 tonne 7.5 tonne or 14 tonne lorries (7.5 tonne being similar to average refuse collection lorry)Bangkirai: 12 weeks exposure. 006 Bangkirai is optically suitable and a very popular choice of colour tone. For the following wood types, a weathering period is recommended. Depending on wood species, new or freshly sanded wood requires up to 12 weeks (approximate) exposure to the exterior elements before application. Minimum Application Temperature - 10 degree Celsius, conditions must not be damp in the evenings and mornings, ideally apply in Spring to Autumn As with most DIY wood projects, there are a couple of things to keep in mind in terms of suitability, but anti slip, for the most part, is within anyone's reach.

Resinous wood, such as Larch or Douglas Fir, need to weather off for at least 6 weeks to improve absorbency. Pressure impregnated wood and tropical species like Massaranduba, Bangkirai, Garapa, Iroko need to weather off for at least 3 months. Cedar requires a 3 month weathering period to improve absorbency. Osmo Polyx®-Oil 3044 Raw is designed to retain this appearance by using a small amount of white pigments to neutralise the permanent ‘wet-look’ that develops after application of a clear finish.

Providing a satin-matt, smooth finish, Osmo Bangkirai Wood Oilis highly water-resistant, dirt-repellent and offers easy maintenance. Many wood species contain water-soluble coloured extractives ( eg Larch ) which may leach out naturally when weathered. Weathered, bare wood surfaces can be refreshed with Osmo Wood Reviver Power-gel. Ready to use. Do not thin. Stir well before use. Thoroughly clean or lightly sand old microporous stains or completely remove old varnishes before application. With easy application, no sanding is required during maintenance, simply apply a further coat! The resulting surface from Osmo Bangkirai Oilis tested to be resistant against liquids such as wine, beer, soft drinks, tea, fruit juice, milk and water etc, in accordance with German regulation standards. ApplicationContaining a high quantity of pigments and oils, Osmo wood finishes leave a stunning surface finish after just one or two coats, without the need for a primer or base coat. Rosewood: 4-6 weeks exposure. However, Natural Oil Woodstain 727 Rosewood is optically suitable and requires a weathering period of approx. 12 weeks before use of Natural Oil Woodstain.

Recommended application: for best results apply to timber with a sawn textured face or sand surface using an orbital sander and 80 grit sandpaper.
